Tommy Collier is a Nashville based musician, artist and Grammy nominated songwriter who has come back full circle to his love of painting. Born and raised in the Mississippi Delta, the river-port-town of Greenville, Tommy began painting at an early age. He grew up watching his dad, Thomas Collier I, spend hours on his art. His dad, a well respected and known artist in the area, would show him various techniques and take him to photograph ideas to paint. In the first grade, Tommy entered a state art contest for all ages and won. He continued to win contests throughout his youth until music caught his ear and led him down a career path to Nashville where he became a songwriter, artist, session musician, and touring musician. After closing out his parents estate, he found and inherited many incredible pieces of his dad’s art. He began archiving and selling prints of his dad’s painting collection that he kept for his own over the years. During this time of reuniting with his dad’s art, Tommy became inspired to pick up a brush again and come back to a long lost love of creating original paintings. Inspired by his delta roots, Tommy’s work reflects areas and memories of his Deep South Mississippi heritage from rural places to the swamps to eclectic interpretations of guitars and instruments. On this journey, as of recent, Tommy has been commissioned to do works for folks and explore new ideas in his original works. Welcome to the Collier Collection.
